Punta Cana Intl. Airport registers the greatest accumulated increase in the arrival of tourists.

The Punta Internacional Airport received 65.3% of the non-resident foreign tourists during the period January-April 2016 who arrived in the Dominican Republic, followed in order of importance by the International Airport of Las Américas, José Francisco Peña Gómez With 16% and Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata (10.6%), while the terminals of La Romana, Cibao, La Isabela and El Catey de Samaná received a combined 8.1% of all non-resident foreign visitors .

The report by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) points out that Punta Cana International Airport recorded the largest accumulated increase in arrivals of tourists, 43,734 additional travelers, which in relative terms represented an increase of 3.8%, followed by the terminal Of Las Americas (27,120), Puerto Plata (12,721) El Catey in Samana (8,775), and La Romana with 5,535 more travelers than in the first quarter of 2015.
